The Power Zone is the area directly in front of you and close to your body. The further your work gets away from you - the heavier it feels on your body and the harder it is to maintain a strong position, increasing the likelihood of injury. Your feet and shoulders should always face the effort. This is where you can generate the safest and most efficient power with the least strain on your body.
Your goal is to perform all of your work in your Power Zone, eliminating any unnecessary twisting of your spine. Twisting of your spine while working significantly increases your risk of a low back injury. Pivot your feet and shoulders to face the effort and keep it in your power zone.
Always keep the effort close to your body. The further the effort is away from you, the higher the risk of injury.
